ACHIEVEMENTS IN SPORTS– HFSI CAIE PRIMARY

HFS INTERNATIONAL, POWAI

It gives us immense pleasure to announce that Jaitra Visaria, Pramit Shimpi and Adam Mampilly of HFSI CAIE Primary Grade 3 have won the "Judges Choice Award" at the WSRO regionals organized on 4th Dec 2022 at the Chatrabhuj Narsee School, for their project - THE CABLE CAR MODEL. WSRO (World stem and Robotics org) is an annual event and one of the largest robotics & STEM festivals in Asia. Thousands of engineers, executives, students, and families come together to be inspired by industry leaders, examine new startups, build robots for various challenges and learn about the latest technology innovations.

Our young innovative and inventive learners participated in the competition and not only made the model but also programmed it to work. The focus of the project was to encourage the use of cable cars in metros as a solution to avoid pollution and traffic. The project was presented by our young learners in a short time span of 3-4 min wherein the problem statement and its solutions were explained by them to the audience and judges.

Congratulations and keep up the great work boys!

MSSA (table tennis) for boys under-14 on 12th of February 2022

Students of HFS International School Powai, Dhruv Shah and Vibhum Sadhale from Grade 8 have received accolades for their performance in the state level table tennis tournament conducted by Maharashtra State Sports Association(MSSA).

Dhruv Shah, secured the first position in MSSA (table tennis) for boys under-14 on 12th of february 2022. The MSSA organisers proudly felicitated the dedication, hard work and fantastic game by Dhruv, at the Maharashtra Labour Welfare Board (MLWB), Mumbai venue. Dhruv is equally proud of his win, and is already focusing on further practice. He happily and frankly shared, “my competitors were pretty easy during the first three rounds, but later on gave some fierce competition. They were all good players.” “For this tournament, my preparation was to play my game and not to get nervous even if I am losing or not able to play properly. I had to stay calm and cool and use my brain.” He loves this sport because it gives him joy to compete and meet other fellow participants. This game helps him build hand-eye coordination and is a gamechanger when using your brain while making strategies on how to tackle your opponent. Dhruv loves the balance of mental strategy and physical agility to win the game.
Vibhum Sadhale was also a proud semi-finalist in the tournament and felicitated by the MSSA organisers at the Maharashtra Labour Welfare Board (MLWB), Mumbai venue. Vibhum also shared that although the opponents in the first 3 rounds were easy to play against, the quarter and semi finalists were very good and were tough to play against. He said, “ I had to work on all the different aspects of my game and practice regularly and be consistent on the table.”

The school congratulates both the learners for their hard work and passion for the sport, as they have achieved this position with equal attention and focus on academics. That truly is a measure of discipline of a sportsman.

HFS family wishes both of them great success in future tournaments and many more accolades for the training and hard work.
