IFS Officer Visit At HFS International School

It was a privilege to have Mr. Benson Ninan,an esteemed IFS Officer, amongst us who took time out from his busy schedule to further the noble cause of spreading awareness among students about the role and functions of the Ministry of External Affairs. As a part of this unique initiative, he introduced them to the key elements of India’s foreign policy and major diplomatic achievements in a lucid manner. It was an enlightening session wherein the students from grade 8 to 12 participated actively asking questions on various issues ranging from the effect of Brexit on India’s economy, extradition laws to Indo Pak relations. Apart from this,HFSI students got a golden opportunity to have a sneak peek into a day in the life of a diplomat wherein they were shown a video on the kind of royal treatment that an envoy to a foreign nation receives. This engaging session came to an end with Mr.Ninan sharing relevant information regarding career options in the field of foreign affairs. We extend our hearfelt gratitude to Mr.Ninan for addressing every wide-eyed query with patience and poise of that of a seasoned diplomat. To witness the youth of today, expressing concern and raising pertinent questions about the future of Indian foreign policy, was indeed a moment of sheer joy and revelation!
